Because custom picture framing is such a complex beast with many custom choices to be made and numerous variables that affect the price, we do not offer over-the-phone or online quotations.

At the Art of Framing, we offer in-store consultations where we talk to you one-on-one and allow you all the time you need to look at sample framing materials and explore and discuss the various options and prices available for your framing needs.

So come on in and visit us soon.

Framing consultations

We offer a diverse range of framing options from all of the Australian suppliers, including smaller locally-made native timber companies and exotic European-made frames.

During your consultation, we will talk to you to understand the style or aesthetic that you want to get from your piece of art hanging on your wall. Then we will show you a few options – including ideas you might not have thought of or didn’t know existed – so that together, we find the perfect solution to suit your artwork, your style and your budget.

Our in-store consultations are guided by the principle that in picture framing what you don’t see is just as important as what you do see – and that’s where our expert framing techniques come in. It is not enough for a picture to look wonderful from the outside: the hidden materials in the backing and the way the artwork is attached are vitally important to the artwork standing the test of time as well as being enjoyable to look at for decades to come.

Whether you’re wanting an original artwork framed or you have some prints, needlework, canvas artworks or mementos to frame, we will guide you through the considerations regarding conserving your artwork, including using acid-free materials, how the artwork will be attached, what UV rating the glass should have. These decisions are especially important for artefacts or artworks that have historical, sentimental or monetary value.

Find out more about our archival-quality framing techniques on our custom picture framing page.

Delivery

Did you know to make your life easier we offer a Brisbane-wide delivery service. We can also arrange interstate and overseas transport.

Why not have your online purchases delivered to our door instead of yours. That way, we can then call you when they arrive and arrange a time to get together for a consultation to design the framing.
